Color Trends of 2010

In the complex world of 2010 color trends, one color reigns supreme, Turquoise.  This color in all it's complexities, shades and hues are found not only by themselves, but also intermingled with other colors.

Recently, in the Design Accents Today, the information source for the home accent industry, the color trends that are predicted to show prominently in all industries were arranged by multicolored pallets as illustrated below.

It is our pleasure to present these color trends as a service from our design staff.  Color trends will be updated as new information becomes available.

SAFE HAVEN

The first palette is Safe Haven. Due to economic stress these colors are perceived to be safe.
Safe Haven's base is neutrals, tinged in greens and blues, classic off whites with touches of luster and shades of Champagne Beige.
Additional colors such as nautical navy, intense burgundy and hunter green, are placed between the tinged neutrals. Safe Haven colors are also textural, featuring the look of zinc, stone, mica, and silt. Gray will be the pivotal neutral of the year.

GREAT ESCAPES

Second, the Great Escapes Palette. This palette is heavily influenced by Dubai, Russia and China.
It is the new luxury palette with deep rich colors over neutral backgrounds.

GATHERING

The third identifiable palette is the Gathering Palette. It is a spicy palette that is African in origin and inspired by the creative boldness of artifacts and handicrafts. This exotic bohemian trend has a heavy Russian influence that will eclipse Asian and African styles by the end of the year. The usual metallic will morph from gold to champagne and silver to pewter.

RADICAL RULES

Radical Rules, the Fourth Palette, promotes an attention getting array of designs and comic book colors influenced by Japanese anime. It is a graphic pattern frenzy with metallic undertones and ombré affects. This palette brings with it an incongruous pastiche of color combinations.

NATURAL EMBRACE

The fifth, eco inspired, palette is Natural Embrace.  With gardening recently becoming the number one hobby it's influence is everywhere. Monochromatic earthy neutrals are partnered with the indigenous colors of delectable fruits and vegetables. This palette, being earth inspired, also features the eco textures of paper, felt, tree bark, florals, bio matter and cardboard. A plethora of pattern on pattern designs can be found in the Natural Embrace palette.
