Hi!

Something new and exciting has been added to the Abbey Site! The Color Trends for 2010 are described and illustrated to give you a sense of what things will look like this year.

The new colors absolutely appetizing with names like Tomato Puree and Vanilla Ice. Many colors and textures are heavily influenced by the current “Going Green” movement. Look for bark, hay, and cardboard
textures and lots of patern on patern designs.

Jaye Abbey is fond of saying “we can paint a thought”. And its true – there are creative people here – you can give us a “thought” and we can turn it into

an expression of your style. Abbey fine art is dedicated to the creation of true customized art to fit the needs of designers and their clients.

If you are used to selecting art from “prefab” sites you are in for a great experience – one that makes you an active participant in the design,

structure, color and framing of your artwork.

As Designers we “paint” broader pictures with other elements – fabric – carpeting – lighting – each of us shaping a personal image and idea for our individual client.

Our sense of style comes from how we put all these pieces together. Abbey Fine Art’s custom art program will allow you too put your style on the walls of your projects –

no more cookie cutter art.

Your interaction starts with talking to another designer about the theme or mood desired in your project – if you already know, for instance, that “abstract’ is your choice -

you are invited to view the site – Abbey Fine Art has forty five contributing artist on staff. If you see a painting that appeals to you - we can reshape, resize and re-color –

to your fabric swatches or colors of your choice. If our gallery images don’t fit your needs a custom piece can be created for you. We can paint and then digitally enhance

over the painting. Once completed we send strike- off pieces to you for approval.

If you should need photographic art we have a generous library of regional photos to select from – covering many areas and countries. Photos can be black and white – sepia-

or accent tinted. They can become collages and be digitally enhanced.

all giclees can be custom sized and printed on paper or canvas.

When I was in Design School

When I was in design school I remember reading that art , in all it’s forms ,was the jewelry of your room. Over the years I have found not only is it the jewelry –

it is the light, the glitter and the beauty. Nothing can move you into a area, pull together a color scheme and be the focal point of a space simultaneously better

than well designed,exquisitely colored, and appropriately framed art.

So, Bejeweling has become my favorite part of design – it becomes an intrinsic part of the design picture. People frequently ask us how we design a room -

obviously there is no one answer. Inspiration comes from everywhere – but frequently I put the jewelry on first.

There are so many diverse ways to use art in a design scheme – complementary or contrasting. reflecting a period or using juxtaposition to play up the

differences between furnishing and surroundings.

As with all aspects of our industry it is hard to keep up with all the changes and to ascertain exactly what you are getting. My missions is to talk with you. about

colors, design trends, new technology and all the many things that can influence our selections. So lets chat.
