Margaret Juul- Ammann

The natural world is my inspiration. I believe my art represents a journey through the infinite, with all the abstract possibilities found in the elegance of nature, time and space. My goals is to capture a moment—full of movement, life, color, scent and sound, never experienced the same way twice—then communicate it through the painter’s brush. My most sincere wish is to catch the viewer’s attention by fostering a mindfulness of the fluidity of the cosmos.

Through the subsequent years, Margaret has devoted thousands of hours studying, painting and perfecting her infatuation with water and her surroundings. She was educated at Columbia College Chicago under respected listed artist Pat Olsen. Later Margaret went on to study Interior Design and in 2007 became a certified member of The International Interior Design Association. Today, Margaret maintains a painting and design studio in Saint Petersburg, Florida with her husband as well as three adorable cats.

Margaret’s Original works and prints sold are sold worldwide, primarily to upscale and celebrity homes, corporate lobbies, commercial, and hospitality sites worldwide. You can learn more about Margaret by going to her website margaretjuul.com or through various search engines.

Tangerine part two…
Dec 8th, 2011 by Margaret Juul-Ammann

Pantone LLC, an X-Rite company (NASDAQ: XRIT), and the global authority on color and provider of professional color standards for the design industries, today announced PANTONE® 17-1463 Tangerine Tango, a vivacious, enticing hue, as the color of the year for 2012.

The 2011 color of the year, PANTONE 18-2120 Honeysuckle, encouraged us to face everyday troubles with verve and vigor. Tangerine Tango, a spirited reddish orange, continues to provide the energy boost we need to recharge and move forward.

“Sophisticated but at the same time dramatic and seductive, Tangerine Tango is an orange with a lot of depth to it,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “Reminiscent of the radiant shadings of a sunset, Tangerine Tango marries the vivaciousness and adrenaline rush of red with the friendliness and warmth of yellow, to form a high-visibility, magnetic hue that emanates heat and energy.”

Over the past several years, orange has grown in popularity and acceptance among designers and consumers alike. A provocative attention-getter, Tangerine Tango is especially appealing in men’s and women’s fashion. Fashion designers featured in the PANTONE Fashion Color Report Spring 2012, including Tommy Hilfiger, Nanette Lepore, Cynthia Steffe by Shaun Kearney, Elie Tahari and Adrienne Vittadini, are incorporating this attractive orange into their spring collections. A fun, lively take on a traditional autumnal hue, Tangerine Tango will surely carry through to fall fashion as well.

A winner in cosmetics because of its versatility, Tangerine Tango is a bit exotic, but in a very friendly, non-threatening way. Add a sultry flair to lips, cheeks and nails with Tangerine Tango. An unexpected eye shadow color, Tangerine Tango is a complementary opposite that flatters blue or green eyes. When paired with brown eyes, it brings out an amber cast.

Orange you glad Tangerine Tango is the color of 2012?

New 2012 Color picks from Pantone.com:
Red/Pink
In the red family we included cherry reds with both blue and yellow undertones, and deeper cabernet reds
with hints of brown. With pink being popular and uplifting, we added a range from a soft Ballerina Pink to
a vivacious Deep Rose with blue undertones.
Orange
With the orange family becoming more prominent we expanded our range to include more hot and radiant
orange shades with red undertones such as Tangerine Tango as well a variety of some spicy and deeper
oranges that display a dollop of brown with names like Cinnamon Stick and Marmalade.
Yellow
To enhance our selection of yellows, we brought in more true yellows in the light to mid-tone range
including Lemon Meringue and Solar Power and also some softer, warmer yellow hues reminiscent of Flan
and Pear Sorbet.
Browns
In the brown family we brought in several of the delicious pure chocolate browns like Ganache and Chocolate
Torte which are deeper and richer. With the taupe and khaki family ascending in popularity we also added
in a variety of warmer and more classic taupes including a Toasted Coconut and Humus which display a
golden base.
Greens
The rising importance of the green family led to the addition of a wide array of green hues ranging from the
lush and deep true hunter greens like Climbing Ivy, to the gemstone influenced emerald greens such as
Jolly Green and on to the more grayed down blue based greens like Belgian Block and Agave Green.
Blues
With a renewed emphasis on blue based shades, we added varying degrees of periwinkle blues including
Paler Halogen and Chambray Blue, some more watery based teal and aquamarine blues with names like
Mykonos Blue and Aqua Splash and 12 new navies including several red based navies, a true indigo and
more classic navy shades like Night Sky and Evening Blue.
Purples
As purple hues continue to soar, we added some more vibrant red based purples such as Cherries Jubilee
and Granite, several grayed down purples with blue undertones suggestive of a Mesa Rose and some
more mystical smokey violet shades.
Mauves
We increased the variety of our blue based pinks from the palest rose to the deeper azalea tones.
Whites
Whites, the purest of the pure and that most classic of shades, were expanded in both warm and cool
tones.
Grays
With grays more in demand, we added a wide range of grays in varying color depths including the more
neutral blue based grays with names like Storm Front and Graphite, as well as some red based and green
based grays.
Blacks
Black Bean and Tap Shoe are just two examples of the variety of new sleek and sophisticated black
shades we added to round out our collection of blacks hues in our palette

We Can Paint a Thought
Oct 1st, 2009 by Margaret Juul-Ammann
Jaye Abbey is fond of saying “we can paint a thought”.  And its true – there are creative people here – you can give us a “thought” and we can turn it into
an expression of your style.  Abbey fine art is dedicated to the creation of true customized art to fit the needs of designers and their  clients.

If you are used to selecting art from “prefab” sites you are in for a great experience – one that makes you an active participant in the design,
structure, color and framing of your artwork.

As Designers we “paint” broader pictures with other elements – fabric – carpeting – lighting – each of us shaping a personal image and idea for our individual client.
Our sense of style comes from how we put all these pieces together.  Abbey Fine Art’s custom art program will allow you too put your style on the walls of your projects –
no more cookie cutter art.

Your interaction starts with talking to another designer about the theme or mood desired in your project – if you already know, for instance, that “abstract’ is your choice -
you are invited to view the site – Abbey Fine Art has forty five contributing artist on staff.  If you see a painting that appeals to you  - we can reshape, resize and re-color –
to your fabric swatches or colors of your choice.  If our gallery images don’t fit your needs a custom piece can be created for you.  We can paint and then digitally enhance
over the painting. Once completed we send strike- off pieces to you for approval.

If you should need photographic art we have a generous library of regional photos to select from – covering many areas and countries.  Photos can be black and white – sepia-
or accent tinted. They can become collages and be  digitally enhanced.

all giclees can be custom sized and printed on paper or canvas.
When I was in Design School
Oct 1st, 2009 by Margaret Juul-Ammann
When I was in design school I remember reading  that art , in all it’s forms ,was the jewelry of your room.  Over the years I have found not only is it the jewelry –
it is the light, the glitter and the beauty.  Nothing can move you into a area, pull together a color scheme and be the focal point of a space simultaneously better
than well designed, exquisitely colored, and appropriately framed art.

So, Bejeweling has become my favorite part of design – it becomes an intrinsic part of the design picture.  People frequently ask us how we design a room -
obviously there is no one answer.  Inspiration comes from everywhere – but frequently I put the jewelry on first.

There are so many diverse ways to use art in a design scheme – complementary or contrasting. reflecting a period or using  juxtaposition to play up the
differences  between furnishing and surroundings.

As with all aspects of our industry it is hard to keep up with all the changes and to ascertain exactly what you are getting.  My missions is to talk with you. about
colors, design trends, new technology and all the many things that can influence our selections.  So lets chat.
